Conference Venue

The Conference will take place at the Medford/Somerville campus at Tufts University. Located just a few miles north of Boston, the quiet campus offers traditional New England charm, while being situated close to cultural and historic Boston, Cambridge, and Logan International Airport, all accessible by public transportation.

What does my registration include?

Included in registration in addition to admission to events are coffee, mid-day snacks, lunch and the Tuesday evening reception.  Breakfast in not provided.

Travel Logistics

Traveling to Boston
Boston is serviced by Logan International Airport (BOS) and is easily accessible for domestic travelers by taxi, bus and train.

Getting to Tufts University from Logan Airport via public transportation

  1. Board the Massachusetts Bay Transporation Authority (MBTA) Silver Line bus (SL1) at any terminal at Logan Airport and ride to South Station. The Silver Line is free when boarding the bus at Logan airport.
  2. At South Station take the Red Line subway toward Alewife Station and get off at Davis Station.
  3. Exit the subway on the College Avenue side.
  4. You may take the #94 or #96 bus or walk 15 minutes along College Avenue to the Tufts campus. If you board the bus, ask the driver to stop across from the Memorial Steps at Tufts University, just before the intersection of College and Boston Avenues. If you walk, turn right out of the subway station and follow College Avenue around a traffic circle. The Tufts campus will be on your left. View map >

Getting to Tufts by Bus/Train at South Station
Board the Red Line of the subway and take it to the Davis Square Station and refer to directions in the preceding paragraph to walk or take the bus to the Tufts campus. Visit the Tufts University Map and directions page (view Medford/Somerville campus) for more information.

Getting to Tufts from the Hyatt Place, Medford 

A shuttle will be provided each morning of the conference from the hotel directly to the conference venue. The shuttle will depart at 8:00am and 8:30am on June 5th, and 8:30am only on June 6th and 7th. Ride is approximately 10 minutes. If you miss the shuttle, a cab can be arranged with the front desk OR either the 94 or 96 bus that departs from just outside the hotel (in Medford City Hall parking lot) will take you to Professors Row @ College Ave, just a short walk away from the conference (~20 min. ride):

Getting from Tufts to the Hyatt Place

There are no return shuttles in the afternoon, however the 96 bus runs from nearby College Ave @ Dearborn Rd to the Hyatt Place (~20 min. ride). Additionally, an Uber or cab ride would take about 10-12 minutes.

Parking at the Conference Venue

If you plan to drive to the conference, we were able to arrange free parking for our participants. Please email: jeffrey.hughes@tufts.edu to arrange a parking pass ahead of time. You will not be able to park in the parking garage for free; this is only an option for Tufts only outside parking options. You can also get a parking pass on-site during registration. The information needed to obtain a free parking pass is the following: Make of car, model, color, plate number, and state registered under.
